A real estate developer must be able to communicate concisely and effectively. The ability to talk to your investors and convey relevant information to them, and then to switch ‘hats’ and talk to the a municipality you are developing in to relay information is critical in the development world. The MLPD program has reinforced my skills to be able to do this efficiently. An example of a project I worked on that involved effective communication was in LDEV 668 – Land Development Practice. My teammate and I were tasked to create a land book for a potential neighborhood development. Effective communication was necessary to effectively execute on the project. The land book can be seen below.
